Walking, Wayfaring and Orienteering

are ideal ways to combine key skills in map-reading and interpretation with outdoor adventure. Wayfaring and orienteering enhance both self-reliance or teamwork skills. Walking and activity trails can be used to bring other subjects such as biology and history to life.

Guided Walking

Let us plan a route to take in whatever interests you most. Mountain summits, woodlands and waterfalls, geology, industrial heritage, plantlife...

Single days or multi-day walks with overnight camp or B&B.

Wayfaring

An introduction to map and compass skills and a great way to learn the rudiments of navigation. It is an ideal introduction to pastimes such as hill-walking.

And it's FUN!

Orienteering

Just as much fun, but if you are looking for a more competitive experience, we can design an event based on orienteering principles. Working in pairs or small teams and with an atmosphere of friendly competition you will plan your route and collect the control points to complete the circuit in the best possible time.

Combinations with other activities

Wayfaring is normally offered as a half-day session, although a full day can be arranged for groups who want to cover this activity in some depth. It can be combined with canoeing and kayaking (canal venue); bell boating; climbing and abseiling, caving or river gorge adventure to make up a full day's programme.
